Turn a pile of sand into a sand sculpture at The Beach, a giant sandbox complete with sand and carving tools.

Explore “Kayaking Adventures in Michigan” with travel writer and book author Jim DuFresne

Learn about cottage succession planning at “Keeping the Family in the Family Cottage” presented by attorney Trey Brice of Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C. in Southfield
7 p.m.
Discover the pleasure of bird watching at “Start Birding! A Beginner’s Guide to Bird Watching” from the Detroit Audubon Society
8 p.m.

Pose for photos in the giant medieval sandcastle complete with towers while it is being built by Sand Pirate Janet Schrader of Fairy Godmother Services in Lakeside, MI

Turn a pile of sand into a sand sculpture at The Beach, a giant sandbox complete with sand and carving tools.
5 p.m.

“Storming the Castle!” Learn how to make cannon balls (sand balls) and throw them at the toy solders guarding castle ramparts with Sand Pirate Janet Schrader at The Beach. The next attack will be in slow-motion, as kids of all ages stomp the castle to the ground.
