America’s Boating Course®
A one-day Boating Safety Certification Course to be held on Saturday, January 26
Representatives of the United States Power Squadrons® will conduct this class. Typically these classes run for a series of four weeks. Those who pass will receive a Wisconsin DNR certificate of completion. The knowledge gained could save you and your family’s life (at the very least it will reduce your insurance premiums).
This certificate is REQUIRED by all persons born after December 31, 1988 and are at least 16 years old in order to operate a personal watercraft or motorboat even if accompanied by a properly certified boating certificate holder. Having a driver’s license does not fulfill this requirement.
This certificate is also required by persons who are at least 12 years old to operate a boat or personal watercraft when no adult is aboard.
This is a great opportunity to prepare for safe summer fun in one day… then take in the Boat Show for free!
America’s Boating Course covers: Introduction to Boating, Boating Law; Boating Safety Equipment; Safe Boating; Navigation; Boating Problems; Trailer, Storing and Protecting Your Boat; Hunting and Fishing; Water Skiing and River Boating; and much more
