Michigan United Conservation Clubs launches MichiganOutofDoors.com at this year’s Outdoorama

LANSING—Outdoorama is February 25 to February 28 at Rock Financial Showplace in Novi.

Since 1937 when a group of hunters and anglers gathered at the Shiawassee Sportsman's Club to form the Michigan United Conservation Clubs or MUCC, we have led the charge for the outdoors.  MichiganOutofDoors.com is just the next step in MUCC's fight for the outdoors.

Why a website? Well, for starters, MUCC and Michigan OutofDoors Magazine have made a habit of doing things that few others have done. MUCC was one of the first state-specific conservation groups and remains the nation's largest. MUCC helped create the first bottle deposit law in the nation. Michigan OutofDoors Magazine is Michigan's longest-running outdoors publication. It only makes sense that we would also create the state's first multimedia portal designed specifically for Michigan's outdoors community. Sure, there are other outdoor websites out there and some of them focus on Michigan. But how many of them have the level of design quality that this one does? How many of them feature the largest video player on the Internet and deliver real-time news and information that matters to you?

Check out the Video Channel. There you'll find how-to videos in the Michigan OutofDoors University section that are designed to teach you new ways to enjoy your time in the outdoors. The Tools of the Trade videos feature the best new gear that's available. Our Conservation Partners videos focus on those companies that are supporting MUCC's mission and protecting your outdoor heritage. But the crown jewel is the all-new OD channel. OD stands for On Demand.

Our outdoors obsession. The OD channel will deliver at least one new episode every week. Some weeks we'll have several new episodes. From updated hunting and fishing conditions, HD video from the field, DNR reports, legislative updates -- anything you want to know about the outdoors, we'll bring it to you first and we'll let you know how it impacts you as sportsmen and women. We will tackle the issues facing the outdoors today and bring you the best information that we can.

Also at Outdoorama this year you’ll find Jimmy Gretzinger, the owner and Executive Producer of Michigan Out-of-Doors Television. He will be on hand to interview successful deer hunters during MUCC’s Big Buck Night on Thursday.  The stories that Jimmy hears will appear in later editions of the popular, highly-rated Michigan Out-of-Doors TV show.

Erin, Tony and the rest of the MUCC staff will be at the show all weekend and are always available for media interviews about the critical conservation and natural resources issues facing Michigan at this very moment.  These include the need to protect our hunting, fishing and trapping heritage, the protection of our Great Lakes from Asian carp, encouraging habitat improvements for fish and wildlife and much, much more.

Join us at Outdoorama and help us as we work to “unite citizens to conserve protect and enhance our natural resources and outdoor heritage.”

Support our efforts to conserve Michigan’s natural resources by remembering MUCC in your contributions and planned giving.
