The Hawg Trough is a mobile 5,000 gallon fish tank that will be the platform for guest fishing experts to provide seminars throughout the Show.  Audience participation by both seasoned anglers and freckle-faced kids keeps the crowd entertained throughout the day.

Nationally recognized and self-proclaimed Grillologists, Mad Dog & Merrill, entertain and educate thousands of backyard enthusiasts every year with the finer points of grilling cuisine.  They want nothing more than to make everyone better at grilling and have a ton of fun in the process.  Mad Dog & Merrill travel the country performing in front of live audiences, writing cookbooks and making videos to show people how easy it is to be creative and entertain in their own backyard.  They are the most entertaining and knowledgeable Grillologists of the past 30 years. 

Shore Lunch Fish Fry

A large dining area has been designated as the site of the Ultimate Shore Lunch Fish Fry.  The Shore Lunch has acquired "ULTIMATE" status with an expanded menu, a family entertainment area and a large bar popular with sportsmen.  A basket of fillets breaded in a special breading mix will be served up with fries and slaw at a family price throughout the show.

Virtual Reality Simulator

Sometimes we are called to a higher order - FUN!  In our book, nothing yells fun like a motion simulator.  Seriously serious fun.  Enjoy the experience of throwing a back roll on a wakeboard or hitting a ski jump at 80 mph and flying 240' in the air.  This is quite the experience!

Be sure to stop by and chat with the Ultimate Fishing Show's very own fishing expert, John Gore.  John is a long time tournament angler and is extremely knowledgeable about all details of fishing, including knot tying, rigs for bass, panfish, walleye, crappie, ice fishing, and all sorts of fish catching tricks.  John and his guests in the Step-Up Mini Clinics booth know the hottest spots for inland lakes and Lake St. Clair for all species.  They can explain the seasonal patterns to put more fish in your boat!  If you've ever wondered how to Texas-Rig a worm, how to tie a Palomar knot, how to fish a tube or any other fishing questions, stop by and talk with John.  As an added bonus, John has invited some of the top regional experts to join him throughout the Show to talk about local lakes, tournament fishing, and some great new techniques to catch more fish.

Learn the best way to clean your fish.  All fish caught at the Trout Pond will be cleaned and bagged with ice for FREE at the Steelheaders' fish cleaning / demonstration booth.  Bring 'em home ready for the skillet.

Fly Fishing Area

The Ultimate Fishing Show has teamed up with the best local fly fishing stores to create a huge fly fishing area!  With continuous free fly casting lessons and non-stop fly tying demonstrations, this area will offer the best in information and products to fly fishing anglers of all ages and all skill levels.  Other activities include book signings and expert advice on local fishing opportunities from guides, professional instructors, outfitters and pros.

Fly Casting Instruction - Come take advantage of the FREE fly casting instruction coordinated in cooperation with the Michigan Fly Fishing Club.  Stop by and ask for help with fly casting fundamentals from beginner to advanced.  Professional guides will be on hand to provide tips and techniques that will surely improve your time on the water this year.

Fly Tyers Corner - Come to watch some of the top fly tyers in Michigan as they set up and demonstrate their favorite patterns or make a request.  This is a constant workshop for anglers that share an interest in this artful pastime, presented by the Michigan Fly Fishing Club.

National Fishing Lure Collectors Club

Royal Oak's Dennis Wolfe of the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club will be at the Show with a unique display of antique fishing lures and sporting collectibles.  Make sure to bring your old tackle to the show and have it appraised for FREE -- You may have a fortune rusting away in that old tackle box!

Michigan Charter Boat Association Virtual Fishing Simulator

Simulated fishing?  Yes, it's "virtual fishing!"  Take the trolling rod in hand, watch the video screen and get ready!  The salmon takes that lure like a freight train and your job is to land that fish.  Michigan charter captains are on hand to coach your fish playing technique.  The computer grades your ability and the best scores win charter fishing trips for the summer of 2013!  All proceeds benefit the MCBA's scholarship fund.

Trout Pond

Presented by the Michigan Bass Busters 

The state's BEST trout pond will be full of frisky rainbows to challenge anglers young and old.  Even if you come just to watch, you will see the highest catch percentage of any trout pond you have ever seen.  Some lucky anglers will win prizes every day!  A small fee is charged and proceeds benefit the Michigan Bass Busters.

Michigan B.A.S.S. Federation NATION Casting Kids Competition

Children receive casting instruction from representatives of the Michigan B.A.S.S. Federation NATION and compete for accuracy.   Saturday and Sunday ONLY.
