PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
WM Home and Garden Show Offers Free TV Recycling
The West Michigan Home & Garden Show and Kent County’s Resource Recovery Program are teaming up to offer free television recycling on Thursday, March 5, 2009, from 3pm until 9pm in front of DeVos Place, 303 Monroe Avenue NW, in downtown Grand Rapids.
Anyone who drops off a TV for recycling on March 5th, opening day of the West Michigan Home & Garden Show, will receive a free admission coupon good any day of the show.
Just pull up to the trailer parked under the awning outside DeVos Place. Resource Recovery staff members will provide assistance.
For more information, call Derek at (616) 447-2860

Recycling old televisions is important because they contain various toxic substances, including lead, chromium, and mercury, among others, which are harmful to both human health and the environment. These heavy metals can leach into the subsoil and water table and poison local soil and water resources.
Alternate contact: Kent County Resource Recovery Specialist Kristen Wieland at (616) 336-4617, or Kristen.Wieland@kentcountymi.gov.
